Meat Customs Clearance in Vladivostok

New declaration procedures for meat and poultry imports in Vladivostok introduced on April 15, 2008, are creating new difficulties for meat traders in the Russian Far East (RFE). Importers are reporting delays and are incurring added expenses associated with clearing meat and poultry shipments at the port. Major obstacles include a lack of cold storage facilities, outdated port infrastructure, bureaucratic customs procedures, and limited and expensive transportation services at the port.
